We always get excited when we love the new songs that we’re working on… so… we’re pretty damn excited!!

Excitement #1

It’s a funky remix of a classic gospel hand-clapper! Really?! How’d that happen? Kyle was recently invited to sing this song at a Celebration of Life, and didn’t realize that they were expecting the traditional version. When the song began with a hip hop breakbeat and Kyle’s beatboxing, mouths dropped open in disbelief and he thought ‘Uh Oh, what have I done?’ But by the end folks were clapping along and singing their hearts out skyward, and we knew we had to add it to The Big Mess repertoire.

Excitement #2

Marty’s brother occasionally sends him musical suggestions. Recently, he suggested a CD that both Kyle and Marty loved… Big Time. Listening to the whole CD awakened a memory in Marty of one of his all-time absolute favourite songs in the whole wide world. It’s slow, it’s dreamy, it’s gorgeous… and yet our version definitely has a groove!
Nope, we ain’t gonna say the name, but we will tell you this: The title of the song rhymes with Barrel Wine, Flow!
